Assisted Living Services

We don’t just talk about providing the highest level of compassionate care…our entire business is designed around this philosophy. We schedule 2-3 times as many caregivers as most Assisted Living Facilities our size and larger. What does that mean to you? It means that you can expect faster service for your loved ones, even during busy times. With the help of technology, our nurse call system and two-way radios also help to speed up our response time by making our staff more efficient. Staffing at these levels also means that your loved one can often ‘age in place’ under most circumstances as their health declines and their needs increase. We offer 6 levels of care and several other higher level services for people with specific needs. Each level of care and other services has a great deal of detail about what they include to ensure that the cost of care matches your expectations (comeby for a tour or request a brochure for more information).

• Dining Program - We employ three chefs who do an extraordinary amount of ‘scratch’ cooking and baking. This allows us to have a much better control over the ingredients going into our meals, both from a health perspective and because of allergies/dislikes. We have three gardens and numerous fruit trees & vines on our property because 'freshly picked' foods and spices always taste better. We welcome our families for join us for breakfast, lunch, or dinner every now and then…we never charge for this because it makes our home feel like your home.
• Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) - We provide assistance with grooming, dressing, toileting, bathing, dental & denture assistance, hearing aid assistance, and even dining assistance for those that need it. We will also provide medication management, from inventory to ordering to assistance to residents while taking their medications, so you can rest knowing this is being done per physician orders.
• Transfer & Ambulatory Assistance - From stand-by assistance for minor stability issues to 1or even 2 person transfer assistance, we can help. If a resident is no longer able to safely assist with transfers with two caregivers on a consistent basis, we’ll have them evaluated for using a hoyer lift. This type of transfer takes an extraordinary amount of time throughout the day by two carefully trained caregivers. This is one of the higher level services that we can provide for those that need it to keep them safe.
• Resident Activity Program - Our daily program is designed to engage our resident and stimulate their senses. We bring several paid musicians each week and some volunteers because music is so important in our residents’ lives. We also offer a variety of crafts, games, an afternoon Movie of the Day, social events, and of course…prizes for our weekly Bingo winners. We have an exercise therapist that gives classes several times a week and our staff leads classes on other days. Our Beauty Salon is open every Friday, allowing our residents to spoil themselves with a set-and-style, mani/pedi, or a variety of other services provided by Sharon, the stylist. We don’t charge Sharon for the salon space so she is able to keep her prices really low.
• Housekeeping and Linen Services - This is something you can expect every day and is included in our cost of care. We will provide basic housekeeping daily, linen services when needed, and deep-cleaning services once a week. Laundry services are also provided in the basic cost of care, but we take a bit further…we don’t mix our resident’s laundry with other residents. We spend less time looking for missing socks, blouses, and shirts and our residents like knowing when their laundry is done every week.
• Other amenities included in the cost of care at Roses & Ivy - Free cable television and wifi internet services available for all residents. Bring a smart TV and you can use our Netflix subscription free of charge. Electrical, water/sewer, and garbage utilities are also included at no charge. We also never charge for basic hygiene items, such as tooth brushes & paste, denture tabs, shampoo & conditioner, sanitary wipes, hand soaps and lotions, toilet paper, deodorant, facial tissue, and more. We provide light bulbs and batteries for remote controls also. Why do we provide all of this at no extra charge? Because the last thing we want is for our families to be running all over town shopping each week.
• Transportation Services - We will coordinate and schedule any transportation you need using local transport companies. We can also provide transportation using our van with or without the handicap accessible ramp for appointments or family events. We can also arrange to have a care companion accompany a resident if they need assistance. There is an additional cost if we provide transportation and/or companion services, but it gives families greater flexibility...and our costs are about half the cost of a local transport company.
